Remodelación de la plaza de España y su entorno, promovida por el Ayuntamiento de Madrid tras un concurso internacional de ideas ganado por el proyecto "Welcome Mother Nature". Más de 70.000 m² de espacio peatonal y ajardinado se construyeron sobre el forjado del aparcamiento existente, con 1.100 ejemplares plantados entre 2020 y 2021. La obra, ejecutada por UTE Plaza España (FCC Construcción y FCSA), abrió el 22 de noviembre de 2021 con un presupuesto base de 61.999.546 €. Hoy el arbolado sigue en crecimiento, con riego por goteo y reposición continua de marras.
